Overview of Project

This project is a combination of art and science, teaching the student to look more closely at what colors and textures nature has to offer. The students will be learning about design elements texture, pattern and color. They will also learn basic measuring and sketching techniques to help them in their future observational drawings.

Essential Question(s)

How does different color combinations effect the overall drawing?

Prior Knowledge

The students should have a basic knowledge of how to draw and know something about color.

Assessment

I assessed the students on how well they understood the use of color combinations and if they could understand what was happening.

Materials

Colored charcoal paper, pastels, viewfinder and white chalk.

Teacher Vocabulary

Analogous, complementary, split color combinations.
