Overview of Project

In this project, students will be creating an advertisement that is marketing for both a product and their group film. The student will learn about advertisements and marketing strategies that are targeted toward a specific demographic.

Essential Question(s)

What are we Marketing? Who is are indended audience?

Prior Knowledge

The prior knowledge the students have of design and advertising is slim to none, but I feel that they will understand how advertisements work since ads surround them everyday. Having a small group discussion followed by a full group discussion of what makes up an advertisement and how to make an interesting composition will help the student better understand the subject matter.

Examples of student or artist work

Due to the students use of themself in their project, examples are not shown for the protection of the students.

Assessment

I will assess the students based on their understanding of: Their ability to think deeply about how to really make the ad appealing to the intended audience, their understating of composition, and their ability to explain the choices they made and why.

Materials

Photoshop and paper to print.
