The Speculum Romanae Magnifcientiae Digital Collection
The University of Chicago Library presents a remarkable collection of nearly 1000 prints that depict major monuments
and antiquities of Rome. These images are from a copy of "Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae", created by Antonio Lafreri,
a master printmaker and publisher in sixteenth century Italy. Click on one of the "Itineraries" to view a mini-exhibition designed by scholars and enjoy a trip to ancient Rome.
